Chablis Gift Sets

Chablis is a wine region in France and is the northernmost area of the larger Burgundy wine region. Chablis wine is produced with 100% Chardonnay grapes and the Chablis region has a moderately cool climate which produces the Chardonnay grape variety with slightly more acidity and flavours than other warmer Chardonnay wine regions. It is because of these climate differences that Chablis is never aged in oak, like most other Chardonnays, hence the difference in flavour. The Chardonnay grape is excellent at taking on and reflecting the characteristics of the soil (terroir) where it’s grown hence the basis of Chablis wines. The Chablis wine region is broken down into smaller appelations, which are Petit Chablis, Chablis, Premier Cru and Grand Cru, all of which produce differing variations of the fantastic Chablis wine.
