Scout & Sage Gin Gifts

The Scout & Sage micro distillery lays on an old fruit farm in the village of Semington, Wiltshire which makes them ones of our close by neighbours. Being based amongst the stunning backdrop of the West Country, there are meadows with wild flowers and growing right on our door step there are gooseberries, raspberries, damsons and sloes. Scout & Sage use traditional distilling methods in a beautiful 150L copper pot still. The Scout & Sage London Dry Gin was awarded the Gold by Taste of The West in the Wine & Spirits category in 2019.

SCOUT & SAGE LONDON DRY GIN

We love a classic gin so we wanted our very first spirit to be a London Dry. When it comes to gin, to have the term London Dry on your label means that no colourings, flavourings or sweeteners can be added before or after distillation takes place. Just the extraction of the precious oils from only natural botanicals can be used to create a true London Dry Gin.

There’s Seville Orange, Pink Peppercorn, Cardamom and a subtle sweetness of cassia bark with hints of floral lavender from the compounds of the cubeb berries. We distill using a high load of juniper so it has a lovely piney finish. Exactly what you want from a classic gin.

It’s unique flavour is well balanced and when mixing with tonic & a simple twist of orange peel it makes a refreshing, thirst quenching and reliably quaffable G&T

RASPBERRY & HIBISCUS GIN

Folks do love a pink gin and we aim to please! We wanted ours to still have an underlying “Ginnyness”. The raspberries bring fruitiness and the hibiscus, soft sweet floral / citrus notes. There’s plenty of juniper and we’ve pepped it up with the addition of Grains of Paradise, an aromatic peppercorn that adds a touch of spice. Backed up by orange & lemon peel, this creation is absolutely delicious served with an elderflower tonic and a sprig of fresh mint.

We use ten botanicals in each of our gins. Each is listed on our botanical chart on the front of every bottle and to reflect our small batch nature, we hand label and every one holds the batch number and signature of our distiller.
