The color is a deep gold, with hints of green hues. The sparkle is lively and persistent. The nose is expressive and complex. The first impressions are of citrus, yellow fruit (peach, apricot, mirabelle plum) together with subtle dry fruit aromas (hazelnut, almond) and spices (cinnamon, vanilla, honey). In the mouth it is very full and well structured. And for its age, it is still dominated by freshness, truly representative of the 1996 vintage. Made using grapes from 50 to 60 different villages, the structure is based on Veuve Clicquot Brut Yellow Label's traditional blend, i.e.
• 50 to 55% Pinot Noir • 15 to 20% Pinot Meunier • 28 to 33% Chardonnay
The blend includes a high percentage (25-35%, sometimes 40%) of “reserve wines” originating from several harvests of the past, which ensures the consistency and quality of the house style. It is completed with approximately 12% of red wine using black grapes especially raised and selected to give a marvellous balance to this Rosé.
The wine has a luminous colour with radiant rose accents. The nose is elegant and generous, with initial aromas of fresh red fruit (raspberry, wild strawberry, cherry and blackberry) leading to dried fruits and biscuit notes (almonds, apricots and brioche). On the palate, the fresh first impression is followed by a fruity harmonious sensation. In line with the style of the Veuve Clicquot House, the wine is perfectly balanced and combines elegance and personality.The wine works its magic - this delectable champagne is beautifully ample and full of charm. It is a delicious wine in early bloom, a Rosé with character, wonderful as an aperitif to be shared as a twosome or with dear friends.
Clicquot's signature brut non-vintage is loved the world over for its crisp, full flavors, consistent quality and celebratory yellow label. This classically-styled, dry Champagne is a blend of two-thirds black grapes (Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier) for body, balanced with one-third Chardonnay for elegance. It has a fine persistent sparkle and golden Champagne color. Its complex nose of apple, citrus and caramel is followed by full flavors with elegance, crispness and a slightly spicy finish.
